Ingrid Seward, a prominent royal author, has recently unveiled her latest book titled 'My Mother and I', offering readers an exclusive glimpse into the intricate dynamics between the King and his late mother.

During an interview on GB News, Seward delved into the profound love shared between the King and Queen, asserting, "He completely adored her. Always. He loved Camilla from the moment he met her." She elaborated on the timing of their relationship, highlighting the obstacles they faced before their eventual union, describing it as a remarkable love story.

However, Seward also shed light on the King's relationship with his mother, depicting Queen Elizabeth as a somewhat distant figure. "She was a mother from a different generation," Seward remarked. "I think that Charles was longing to be hugged by his mother, but he was only ever given that kind of affection by his nannies."

Exploring further, Seward revealed the challenges faced by Queen Elizabeth in balancing her role as a monarch with her duties as a mother. "Princess Elizabeth only had time with Charles until he was 4 years old before she became Queen," Seward explained. "Then her children were taken away from her, mentally if not physically, because she was so busy being the Queen."

Despite the constraints of royal duty, Seward emphasized that King Charles had adopted a different parenting approach, forging close bonds with his children. "Charles was very close to his children, especially Harry," she noted. "Charles was an indulgent father, but when his relationship with Diana broke down so badly, Diana's weapon was to take the children."

Through 'My Mother and I', readers are invited to delve into the intricacies of royal family dynamics, offering a poignant reflection on love, duty, and parenthood within the monarchy.
