Donald Glover, widely known by his stage name Childish Gambino, thrilled fans with the unexpected release of his latest album, Atavista, marking his first album drop in four years.

Glover announced the release on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, May 12, with a simple post: "ATAVISTA is streaming now."

Atavista is a reimagined version of Glover's 2020 album *3.15.20*, featuring revamped tracks and introducing a new song, "Little Foot Big Foot."

The Grammy-winning artist also treated fans to a music video for the new track, featuring rapper Young Nudy and directed by longtime collaborator Hiro Murai.

Earlier this year, Glover hinted at his intention to retire the Childish Gambino moniker with the release of two final albums: Atavista and Bando Stone & the New World. The latter will accompany an upcoming film of the same name, set to release this summer.

Atavista serves as a poignant reflection of Glover's journey, encapsulating his experiences and emotions over the past four years.

With new production arrangements and guest appearances, including Atlanta rapper Young Nudy, the album promises a fresh perspective while staying true to Glover's distinctive style.
Fans eagerly await what comes next as Glover continues to push creative boundaries and leave a lasting impact on the music world.
