Oprah Winfrey Finds Therapy in Friendship with Gayle King

Oprah Winfrey recently revealed that despite never seeking professional therapy, she found solace and release by confiding in her best friend, Gayle King, to alleviate stress and keep herself grounded.

In an intimate conversation with People, the renowned television presenter opened up about the enduring bond she shares with Gayle, highlighting the pivotal role their friendship has played in her life. 

Oprah disclosed, "I've never been to a therapist because I had so many on the show, but my real therapy came from downloading whatever was happening in the day with Gayle every night."

Emphasizing the consistency of their connection, Oprah revealed, "There wasn't a day that we missed being on some kind of phone call talking about what had happened in our days."

The roots of their friendship trace back to Oprah's early career as a 22-year-old newscaster at WJZ-TV in Baltimore, where she crossed paths with 21-year-old Gayle, who served as a production assistant and writer at the station.

Reflecting on the significance of their nightly conversations, Oprah realized that her discussions with Gayle served as a form of therapy, providing her with a much-needed release and a means of maintaining balance in her life. 

She remarked, "I realized years later, talking to an expert about something else, that that was my therapy, that was my release. That was the way I not only kept myself grounded, but it was the way I regulated myself every day."

Oprah's candid revelation sheds light on the profound impact of friendship as a source of support and emotional sustenance, showcasing the enduring power of genuine connection in navigating life's challenges.
