The much-anticipated first trailer for the Wicked movie adaptation, based on the beloved Broadway musical, has finally been released.

The trailer offers a tantalizing glimpse into the magical world of Oz, highlighting the incredible vocal talents of lead stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. 

Grande and Erivo breathe new life into the iconic songs "Popular" and "Defying Gravity," showcasing their powerhouse performances.

Cynthia Erivo takes on the role of Elphaba, a young woman with distinctive green skin who struggles to find her inner strength and identity. In contrast, Ariana Grande plays Glinda, a popular figure driven by privilege and ambition, yet still on a journey to discover her true self. 

Their unlikely friendship faces challenges and changes when they cross paths with The Wizard of Oz, leading them on diverging journeys.

Scheduled for a theatrical release on November 27 this year, the film has an impressive budget of $145 million. 

The star-studded cast also includes Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Yeoh, Peter Dinklage, and Bowen Yang, with Jon M. Chu, known for "Crazy Rich Asians," directing the adaptation.

Fans of the musical and new audiences alike can look forward to a visually stunning and emotionally resonant film that promises to capture the magic of the original Broadway production.
