Keith Urban recently expressed his admiration for Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande, recognizing their extraordinary talent and musical prowess in an interview with PEOPLE following the announcement of his Las Vegas residency.

The country musician, known for his candid insights, revealed his long-standing appreciation for Taylor Swift, describing her songwriting as "extraordinary." Urban gushed, "I mean, God, Taylor's songwriting, it's so extraordinary. There's really no adjectives for it."

Continuing to sing Swift's praises, Urban emphasized the undeniable quality of her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," as further evidence of her exceptional abilities. 

He enthused, "She's such a great, great writer. So, this new album is just more proof of that in really great ways."

In addition to Swift, Urban shared his enthusiasm for Ariana Grande's latest single, "We Can't Be Friends." He confessed, "I don't know what is going on with that song, but I cannot stop playing it. It's like audible heroin." 

Urban humorously admitted to being hooked on the song, playing it repeatedly as if needing another hit.

Attending the Met Gala on May 6, Urban had the opportunity to witness Grande's performance of "We Can't Be Friends," which left a lasting impression on him. Describing the song as having "real celestial magic," Urban declared it as his current obsession.

Urban also commended Grande for her unique voice, likening her to Swift in terms of their distinctiveness. 

He expressed his preference for singers whose voices are immediately recognizable, highlighting Grande and Swift as standout examples in the industry.

As Urban's admiration for Swift and Grande underscores, their remarkable talents continue to captivate both fans and fellow musicians alike, solidifying their status as musical powerhouses in the industry.
