King Charles Worried About Misunderstandings with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Amid Archie's Birthday

King Charles III reportedly expressed concerns about potential misunderstandings with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry amid a period of tension, particularly regarding a gift for their son, Archie, on his fifth birthday.

Amidst the family's rift, the monarch was hesitant about sending a gift to Archie, fearing it might be misinterpreted by the Sussexes. 

Royal commentator Tom Quinn revealed that King Charles considered sending a "homemade gift," possibly one of his own watercolour paintings, as Meghan prefers homemade presents over extravagant ones. 

However, there was apprehension about how the gesture would be perceived by Harry and Meghan.

Quinn recalled a previous instance where Charles gifted Prince George a handmade swing, but Prince Harry reportedly deemed such grand gestures unsuitable for Archie. King Charles, known for his artistic talents, has been painting outdoor scenes in watercolour since the 1970s, inspired by his art teacher at Gordonstoun in Scotland. His paintings have been valued at £2 million since 1997.

In light of Archie's birthday, Quinn suggested that the King may have attempted to arrange a video call with Harry to connect with Archie directly, thereby avoiding potential interactions with Meghan, which he reportedly finds daunting.

The tensions within the royal family underscore the challenges of maintaining relationships amidst distance and differences, especially when navigating sensitive occasions like birthdays.
