Dua Lipa Opens Up About Friendship with John Cena: "He's My Emotional Support Actor"

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Dua Lipa (Albanian singer and songwriter) shared insights into her burgeoning friendship with actor John Cena (WWE former wrestler), revealing that their bond has become quite inseparable.

The "Houdini" singer, who recently starred alongside Cena in the upcoming Barbie movie, candidly expressed, “It seems like I can’t seem to do anything without him.”

Describing Cena as her "emotional support actor," Lipa shared her admiration for him, stating, “He’s really my emotional support actor. It was fab, and he’s amazing, and I absolutely love working with John. He’s such a great guy and so lovely.”

The collaboration between Lipa and Cena came about during the filming of the Argylle movie, directed by Matthew Vaughn and set to premiere in February 2024.

Cena previously discussed his involvement in the movie on Today.com with Hoda & Jenna, describing it as a fortuitous opportunity. 

He explained, “It was a happy accident. It was a chance to maybe say ‘Hey, would you guys be willing to have me if I could do something?’”

Despite her busy schedule, Lipa managed to fit in her cameo between tour dates, emphasizing the excitement of juggling different projects. “Today I’m going to go and put on four different colored wigs and a mermaid tail, and tomorrow I’m going to fly and get up onstage again and do something completely different,” she shared.

Reflecting on the experience, Lipa expressed her thrill, stating, “I felt like I was holding the biggest secret in the world from the song to the little cameo, which was fun and exciting."
