'Absolutely unusual' was how Prince Harry and King Charles met.
When Prince Harry hurried to see ailing King Charles following his cancer diagnosis, reports suggest their reunion wasn't exactly warm. Harry swiftly flew to the UK upon learning of the monarch's health condition, leading to a 30-minute private conversation – their first in 15 months.
While this encounter seemed like a step toward repairing their strained relationship, royal correspondent Michael Cole pointed out that the customary royal cheek kiss was notably absent, indicating a less-than-enthusiastic reception from the King to his son.
"The priority for someone battling cancer is to avoid any risk of infection. Considering Harry had just been on a plane, breathing the same air as up to 150 other people, it's safe to say the usual greeting of a royal cheek kiss was not on the table," Michael told GB News.
Nevertheless, the expert noted that Harry's eagerness to reconnect with his father appeared genuine. The Duke of Sussex may soon have another opportunity to converse with the King, as Harry is scheduled to return to the UK in May to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, an event he founded in 2014. The celebrations will take place at St Paul's Cathedral.
Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan Markle have stirred controversy once again by launching a new website to replace their Archewell Foundation's site. Their discreet introduction of Sussex.com, featuring Meghan's coat of arms and discussing their children's royal titles, was labeled as "very exploitative" by an expert.
Though not confirmed, there are claims that the couple did not consult Buckingham Palace before quietly rebranding just days after King Charles' cancer diagnosis.
Addressing the matter, royal historian Hugo Vickers expressed to The Mirror, "It goes against everything the Sussexes promised they would not do."
