In a heartfelt trip down memory lane, Anne Hathaway revisited memorable scenes from the beloved 2001 film, 'The Princess Diaries,' offering fans a glimpse behind the scenes. 

In an interview with Vanity Fair, the acclaimed American actress shared insights into one of the film's iconic moments involving her character's makeover.

Recounting a scene where her character Mia undergoes a transformative makeover by co-star Larry Miller's character Paolo, Anne revealed an amusing anecdote. As Paolo attempts to tame Mia's unruly hair, he inadvertently breaks the brush, prompting an improvised reaction from Hathaway and Miller.

Anne disclosed, "So he really had to break the brush in this. They pre-broke the brush and it was supposed to break kinda easily but it didn’t quite happen." She continued, "That’s me and Larry kind of improvising, trying to get it to go."

Reflecting on the experience, Hathaway shared a moment of uncertainty during filming, unsure if her reaction was genuine or simply buying time for Miller. 

Despite the challenges on set, Hathaway fondly recalled her youthful enthusiasm during the making of the film.

Gushing over the film's director Gary Marshall and her co-star Julie Andrews, Hathaway described them as "two of the most magical people I have ever met." 

She credited 'The Princess Diaries' as a life-changing experience, expressing pride in her role and gratitude for the film's enduring success.

With emotions running high, Hathaway reflected on the film's impact on her life, noting its significance over the past two decades. "It felt so big at the time and it wound up being so big, and it’s kind of just gotten bigger as my life has progressed," she shared. "I’m just so proud to be in this movie, I’m really glad that I’m that girl in there."
