Timothée Chalamet made his first appearance on the set of the highly-anticipated biopic "A Complete Unknown" on Sunday, embodying the iconic musician Bob Dylan. 

Photos shared by PEOPLE captured Chalamet's transformation into Dylan as he roamed the streets of New York City in '60s-inspired attire, complete with a guitar case in hand.

Clad in jeans, a green jacket, an orange scarf, and a yellow bag slung over his shoulder, Chalamet exuded the essence of Dylan as he prepared to bring the legendary musician to life on the silver screen.

Director James Mangold had previously revealed in a 2023 interview with Collider that Chalamet would be singing in character as Dylan in the film. Mangold expressed his excitement about depicting Dylan's meteoric rise to fame, from a struggling 19-year-old arriving in New York City with just two dollars to becoming a global sensation within a few short years.

"The story of Bob Dylan's journey into the heart of American culture is truly remarkable," Mangold commented. "From his humble beginnings in the folk music scene of New York to his rapid ascent to international stardom, it's a tale that captures an unforgettable moment in American history."

In addition to Chalamet's portrayal of Dylan, the biopic will feature other notable figures from the era, including Woody Guthrie, Joan Baez, and Pete Seeger. Mangold emphasized that each character would play a significant role in depicting the vibrant cultural landscape of the time.

With production underway since late March, anticipation is building for "A Complete Unknown" as fans eagerly await the opportunity to witness Chalamet's transformation into one of music's most enduring legends.
