Addressing the audience, the Mean Girls star expressed the profound impact of embracing her authentic self as an out queer artist and lesbian. "Living as my authentic self is the most rewarding, validating, scary, and exciting experience I've ever had," Rapp revealed, acknowledging the support and advocacy provided by GLAAD. "Thank you, GLAAD, for helping the world see us as we are," she added.

In a recent interview on the Therapuss podcast with TikToker Jake Shane, Rapp opened up about publicly discussing her sexuality for the first time in 2020.
