The iconic "Goddess of Pop" Cher celebrated her 78th birthday on Monday, May 20th, surrounded by friends and family.
Despite her previous jokes about dreading getting older, Cher was all smiles as she cut her cake in a surprise celebration.
A video shared by Hello! Canada Magazine captured the moment when Cher, dressed casually in a light pink blouse and Jolly Roger jeans, walked into her surprise birthday party aboard a private jet.
A small group of people sang "Happy Birthday" as she made her way down the aisle, taking in the heartfelt moment.
The birthday cake, featuring a portrait of Cher and the cheeky message “I’m Cher B***h!” scribbled in black ink, awaited her on a small table.
In an earlier interview with Entertainment Tonight, Cher had mentioned she had no big plans for her birthday other than “putting my pillow over my head and screaming.” However, the "Believe" singer has always maintained a positive attitude about aging.
Last year, Cher humorously addressed her age on Twitter (now X), writing, “Ok, Will Someone PLEASE Tell me… When Will I Feel OLD.” She added, “I keep hearing these numbers, but I honestly can’t understand them. WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH NUMBERS #’s!? I’m dyslexic & #’s are hard 4 me.”
Cher’s birthday celebration was a testament to her enduring spirit and the love she continues to receive from those around her.
