Ryan Gosling Expresses Admiration for Angela Bassett on The Late Show

During his appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on May 9, Ryan Gosling shared a heartfelt story about his admiration for actress Angela Bassett.

Gosling revealed to Colbert that when he was 13 years old, he had requested an autograph from Bassett, recalling how she graciously agreed. 

He reminisced about seeing Bassett's exceptional performance in the 1993 film "What's Love Got to Do with It," which earned her an Oscar nomination and left a lasting impression on him.

The actor fondly recounted the encounter, which took place at an AMC movie theatre where he ran into Bassett, possibly accompanied by actor and comedian Sinbad. 

Gosling humorously admitted that he wasn't sure if they were together or just happened to be in conversation.

In addition to praising Bassett, Gosling shared that the "last person" he obtained an autograph from was actor and comedian Jim J. Bullock, a gesture for his partner Eva Mendes, who is a fan of Bullock.

Throughout the interview, Gosling displayed his wit and charm, revealing tidbits about his personal life and preferences. 

He jokingly mentioned seeking approval from Mendes before making major decisions and shared his favorite action movies, including "No Retreat, No Surrender" and "First Blood."

Gosling's admiration for Bassett and his candid anecdotes added warmth and humor to his appearance on The Late Show, showcasing his appreciation for fellow actors and his down-to-earth personality.
