Ryan Gosling Reveals His Kids' Major Demand Before Signing Action Movies

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, renowned Canadian actor Ryan Gosling shared a unique condition his children imposed on him before signing for any future action movie roles: they didn't want him to be set on fire.

Gosling, best known for his roles in films like The Notebook and Drive, disclosed that his kids, whom he shares with longtime partner Eva Mendes, specifically requested to avoid any scenes involving pyrotechnics.

Despite explaining the safety precautions involved in such stunts, including fire-resistant clothing and protective gel, Gosling's children were adamant. "So, I didn't do it," the 43-year-old actor revealed.

Instead, a stunt double, Ben Jenkin, performed the fiery stunt for Gosling's character, demonstrating the actor's commitment to his children's concerns.

This revelation comes in light of Gosling's recent film, The Fall Guy, directed by David Leitch, where the actor faced another challenge: a fear of heights.

Despite his apprehension, Gosling insisted on performing some of his own stunts to better understand the work of stunt professionals.

Reflecting on the importance of stunt performers in the film industry, Gosling emphasized, "You can't separate the history of film from the history of action and stunts." 

He expressed gratitude for their contributions and the risks they undertake to create memorable moments on screen.

The Fall Guy, in which Gosling stars, is set to hit theaters tomorrow (May 3), offering audiences an exciting cinematic experience.
